"a fly line runs through it" - pretty clever huh? ok, clever enough. I'm a fly fisherman and a fly tyer. I thought it would be nice to have a place to talk about that - to share that with those who may be interested. so here it is - the angler's quarter. fishing stories, fly patterns, photos, and links to other sites are among what you'll find here - have fun!

I like to fish alone, but I also love to take my kids with me. I want to hand that down to them as my Dad handed it down to me. I grew up fishing rivers in Southeastern Kentucky, being carried on my Dad's back from the age of 3 when I was too young to wade. So, running water is in my blood you might say.

My 8 year old son and I are going tomorrow morning to fish Silver Creek, a Smallmouth stream in central Kentucky near Lexington. I'v been fishing that stream for about 15 years I guess - still love it although the character has changed radically over the years. It has rained today - not too much, and the temperature for July has dropped a bit. It ought to make things more productive - color the water and fill the creek up some. I'll post a report when we get back. I'm looking forward to it.
