"a fly line runs through it" - pretty clever huh? ok, clever enough. I'm a fly fisherman and a fly tyer. I thought it would be nice to have a place to talk about that - to share that with those who may be interested. so here it is - the angler's quarter. fishing stories, fly patterns, photos, and links to other sites are among what you'll find here - have fun!

I'm on a tying kick I guess. It's becoming something I do again. I sort of had it in the closet for a while. Looks like I've dragged it out. I tied a few today as the weather has actually turned cold again in Kentucky. I know it's going to come back out of this so I'm still looking forward to hitting a Smallmouth stream soon. I tied a few Shenk's White Minnows - one of the better smallmouth flies I've used. Then I tied up something akin to a Wooly Bugger - a Wooly Thang, I guess. I used the fur of an Australian Opossum for the tail, dubbed rough on the body then picked out, and palmered wtih a black saddle hackle - oh, and red thread (just a hint of blood or whatever). It looks downright buggified - I'll let you know. Here they are in all their glory.
